The short version: puts a V-Mount or Gold Mount battery on a Blackmagic URSA so the camera and accessories run off one brick.

What you'd use it for

Rental houses and owner operators fit these when they want one battery format across a mixed camera package. The Pro plates use a Blackmagic URSA Molex connector that plugs straight into the back of the camera and hides under the plate, so there is no external power cable to dress or snag.

Standard is V-Mount only and suits the URSA Mini and URSA. Pro comes in V-Mount, the popular choice, or Gold Mount if your batteries already run on it. It also covers the URSA Mini Pro, and adds a tough aluminium body, three P-Taps, a digital fuse with a reset button, a rear cover plate and captive mounting screws.

In real world terms

  • Camera power? Pro: through a Molex connector straight into the back of the camera, no external cable.
  • Accessory power? 3 P-Taps on Pro at battery voltage (12 to 16V).
  • Part numbers? V-Mount Standard 8075-0264, V-Mount Pro 8075-0266, Gold Mount Pro 8075-0265.

Good to know

  • On the Pro plates the old physical fuse is replaced by a digital one. If your accessories pull more current than the set limit, only the accessory outputs switch off and the camera keeps rolling. Take some load off, hit the reset button and you are back in business.
