What you'd use it for

A thick woven paracord lanyard with a metal clasp, for keeping a light meter, a radio, keys or a set of allen keys on you instead of at the bottom of a case. It is built heavier than the usual promotional lanyard, so it stands up to being clipped and unclipped all day.

The colourways are mostly there so a crew can tell whose is whose at a glance.
