A counterweight is attached to the back of a teleprompter to help the camera support balance correctly, compensating for the extra weight of the monitor, hood, and beamsplitter at the front of the setup. This 5kg counterweight is designed to fix to the 19mm rods included in the Pioneer mounting system.

Note: counterweight is not usually needed for Autocue Explorer teleprompters when mounted underneath the monitor. Pioneer teleprompters and Talent Monitor packages include a counterweight as standard — this is for replacement or additional use. If adding counterweight to an Explorer Series teleprompter, 19mm rods are also required.
