What you'd use it for
The aktiv10 flowtech100 system is both lightweight and durable, designed to be a long-serving and high-performing part of your kit. This system is the perfect choice for professional medium-sized camcorders and digital cine camera set ups of up to 12 kg (26.5 lbs.). 15 counterbalance steps allow for fast and precise balancing of your camera. Seven drag settings provide smooth and fast options to adjust drag performance without jolts or vibrations. The illuminated PrismBubble with top or side view makes levelling easy from any height.
The same head is offered with a choice of two camera plate systems, and that choice is what the Camera plate selector sets. The aktiv10 carries the Sideload mechanism, part numbers S2072S-FTGS and S2072S-FTMS. The aktiv10T carries the Touch & Go camera platform in place of the Sideload mechanism, part numbers S2072T-FTGS and S2072T-FTMS. Payload, counterbalance steps, drag settings and levelling are the same on both, and BFD prices them the same.
Fluid head
The fluid head with unique SpeedLevel™ technology can be levelled in seconds giving you time to get the perfect shot in documentary, corporate, news or wildlife applications. The SpeedSwap™ system delivers the fastest way to switch between tripod and slider in seconds giving you ultimate flexibility.
Tripod
Capture the widest range of shots in the shortest time with aktiv10 or aktiv10T combined with flowtech100. With no bowl clamp required, flowtech can go flat to the ground for extreme low-angle shots, using the versatile hinge lock mechanism of flowtech. The system delivers the widest height range. The 2-stage carbon fibre flowtech tripod with high torsional stiffness has unique quick release brakes which can be deployed and adjusted in an instant. Its ergonomic design makes the tripod comfortable to carry, on shoulder or carry handle, no matter where your creativity takes you. flowtech comes with a quick attach rubber foot mechanism. When you are ready to move on, the legs are held together by a magnetic lock for transportation.

Options
Camera plate
Sideload is the mechanism fitted to the aktiv10. Sachtler describes it as a long sliding range of 120 mm that makes loading and positioning the camera quick and easy, so it suits a rig whose balance point moves as the configuration changes and has to be found on the platform. Part numbers S2072S-FTGS and S2072S-FTMS.
Touch & Go is the camera platform fitted to the aktiv10T in place of the Sideload mechanism. The camera drops onto the plate from above into a preset position and comes on and off one handed, so it suits a crew mounting the same camera on the head again and again. Its sliding range is 60 mm, half that of the Sideload plate, so there is less fore and aft travel available for balancing. Part numbers S2072T-FTGS and S2072T-FTMS.
Spreader
Ground and mid level spreaders are offered against both camera plates on the same flowtech100 tripod. With the Sideload plate the ground spreader system weighs 6.8 kg (15 lbs.) and the mid level system 6.9 kg (15.2 lbs.). With the Touch & Go plate Sachtler publishes the same system weight of 7 kg (15.3 lbs.) for both. The two spreaders are priced differently, so check the price against the option you have selected.
