What you'd use it for

The HotHand is what crews pull on when the job involves heat: hot lamp housings, hot globes, rigging that has been cooking under a lamp all afternoon. Setwear built it in 2001 around the obvious problem, that a glove thick enough to handle heat is usually too clumsy to work in, and their answer was a reinforced second layer of heat resistant leather over the palm and the other areas that actually touch hot metal. Setwear rate it for contact heat performance Level 2, 250°C / 480°F. The extended cuff covers the wrist, and because the insulation works in both directions the same glove earns its keep on a cold night exterior.
