Step 1: choose your mount
Gold Mount (three-pin stud) and V-Mount (wedge) are the two standard interfaces. They're functionally similar, so the practical rule is simple: match whatever your camera plate and accessories already use, and standardise your whole kit on it so every battery fits every charger and bracket. If you shoot a high-draw camera like the ARRI Alexa 35, you'll want Gold Mount Plus (26V-capable) or B-Mount instead, see Step 2.
Step 2: choose your voltage, 14V or 26V
Most cameras run on 14.4V, and the Titon and Dionic XT lines cover them. But high-draw cinema cameras, the ARRI Alexa 35 is the headline example, need 26V. Here's why: a 14.4V battery powering a 200 W load has to push very high current (roughly 12 to 19 A), which creates heat and stresses the pack. A native 26V battery delivers the same power at about half the current (~7 to 10 A), running cooler and more efficiently. Anton Bauer's Dionic 26V batteries are native 26V (cells stacked in series), not 14.4V packs with a boost converter, which is why they sustain high power better. They come in Gold Mount Plus and B-Mount.
Step 3: choose your capacity (watt-hours)
Watt-hours (Wh) is your runtime. Estimate it by dividing the battery's Wh by your rig's power draw in watts, a 150 Wh battery on a 50 W setup runs about three hours. More Wh means longer runtime but more weight, so match capacity to the job.

Don't forget: airline travel limits
If you fly with your kit, watt-hours matter for a second reason. As a general guide under international (IATA) rules, lithium batteries up to 100 Wh can travel in carry-on with few restrictions; batteries between 100 Wh and 160 Wh are usually allowed only with airline approval and typically limited to two spares; and batteries over 160 Wh are generally not permitted on passenger aircraft. Spare batteries must go in carry-on, never checked. Rules vary by airline and change, always confirm with your carrier before you fly. This is why many travelling shooters standardise on sub-100 Wh batteries like the Titon 90 or Dionic XT 90.
