The Blackmagic URSA Cine 12K LF is a full-frame 24V cinema camera that is now just as much at home on a live SMPTE-2110 production as on a film set. Building it out means 26V power, heads that carry a real cine payload, and wireless and monitoring to match. Here is how to do it from the Black Flag Distribution range.
The URSA Cine 12K LF in brief
The URSA Cine 12K LF uses a 36 x 24mm RGBW sensor rated by Blackmagic at 16 stops of dynamic range, recording Blackmagic RAW up to 12K 3:2 open gate. It ships with a PL mount and a locking EF mount, with LPL available, and has built-in electronic ND filters, 12G-SDI outputs, 10G Ethernet and USB-C. It is a 24V camera, supplied with a B-Mount battery plate that connects to the body through a Molex connector. At NAB 2026 Blackmagic added the URSA Cine 12K LF 100G, built for live SMPTE-2110 production over 100G Ethernet.
Power: the Anton Bauer Gold Mount Plus bracket for URSA Cine
The Anton Bauer Gold Mount Plus Bracket for Blackmagic URSA Cine (SKU 8375-0263) is the direct-fit plate. It mounts straight to the back of the camera through the same Molex connector as the supplied plate, and runs native Anton Bauer Dionic 26V Gold Mount Plus batteries with full SMBus communication, so battery data is available for monitoring. Camera support: OConnor and Sachtler
A fully dressed URSA Cine with cine glass, matte box, FIZ, EVF and wireless is a heavy build. The OConnor Ultimate 2560 is the reference head for drama and feature work, and the Ultimate 2575E takes heavier packages. From Sachtler, the Cine 30 system brings SpeedBalance counterbalance and ARRI-compatible plates. The Teradek Bolt 7 takes 12G-SDI for zero-delay video to focus, director and client monitors, with the Bolt 7 Max for long-range work. SmallHD monitors give the operator, focus puller and DIT PageOS tools, the Wooden Camera Director's Monitor Cage v3 protects the director's monitor, and the Light Widow FIZLock speeds up lens motor changes.
Lighting and light control: Litepanels, Quasar Science, Chimera and LEE
Litepanels Gemini panels give soft, full-colour key and fill, the IP-rated Astra IP 1x1 handles exteriors, and Quasar Science Rainbow 2 tubes cover practicals and effects. Chimera lightbanks shape your sources, and LEE Filters CTO, CTB and 216 balance and soften them.
